Okay, I get tired of seeing people constantly targeting and criticizing specific people…as if we don’t ALL have areas we need to work on ourselves. If we’re talking about the entertainment industry, I can point out flaws and spirits attached to music in every generation, some that we’ve all probably listened to at some point, but I won’t. At the end of the day, we’re all grown adults here. And while it’s important to be aware of certain things, some of you are taking it way too far by hyperfocusing on certain individuals and every little thing you can feast your eyes on (which is 90% assumptions and 10% truth). I was born and raised Apostolic and with having God-given discernment, I’d know if something wasn’t right. And I’ve gotten that feeling at certain points as there are certain artists I will not listen to. But you’re pointing at one individual who is the least bit evil compared to many of them that are praised 10x more and seem to disguise their demonic activity with a good enough beat to block out the lyrics.
I suggest looking in the mirror and maybe reminiscing on certain times in your life (like this individual) you may have come off with a similar spirit, but without having a blazing spotlight on your back scrutinizing your every move. Also, tell me you’ve never used Biblical references to compare your own life experiences to. You can’t because you’d be lying.
We all carry a spirit about us, and even as Christians, we’re not always carrying the right one. If you’re angry or depressed, you bet you’re carrying those negative spirits around with you and people can feel it. Just think about that.
And if you personally feel convicted or unright in your spirit listening to certain music, that’s understandable. But not everybody is going to feel that same conviction and shouldn’t be forced to just because you do.
Biblically speaking, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?” (Matthew 7:1-5)
Keep in mind, I’m also coming from an artist’s perspective myself. My writing is my art. And just as some of these artists write their stories in forms of songs, I write mine in forms of actual books. I’m sure people judge and scrutinize me for some of the things I write because maybe they don’t agree with the way it’s worded or it’s not “Godly enough” for them, but at the end of the day, those are experiences I went through and chose to share in the way that I did because that was the best way I felt I could express it. I’ve prayed for the right words and for God to convict me when I do wrong so I can make it right. Nonetheless, I can’t please everyone and that isn’t my goal. My ultimate goal is to please God so at the end of the day, that’s the only opinion that matters to me.
Just my thoughts lately. Not here to argue or debate. Probably need to get off social media for a while again because it’s driving me utterly insane more and more nowadays.
