Time seems to stand still
When you’re standing amid chaos
Destruction is bound to occur
If there’s not one to halt it
We think we have all the time in the world
But truly
Time is of the essence
It is given not to be taken lightly
But to be measured out
Distributed equally
Among the many souls that cry out
Your cry is the loudest
Like a wail from a well
Bouncing off stone chambers
Pleading for refuge
Seeking shelter in the arms of a loved one
We are alike
You and I
For we seek to fill a void
A God-shaped void
But continuously accept love that pierces our flesh
We believe that to be loved and in love
We must also go through pain
But with the greatest love
There is refuge
For once you are safe
How have we not been in this love before?
Lord forgive us for doubting you
Time seems to stand still
If we’d only wait
Our patience runs thin
But the more worn we get
The less we care
Our patience grows thick
With every rock we’re struck down
We stand upon the mountain
Facing it all
The chaos stays active
But our present is the result
Of a sound mind amidst it all
To drown out the crowd
